An open letter from Emeryville residents to their neighbors:

Dear Emeryville Neighbor:

We are writing to ask you to join us in voting NO on Measure T and NO on Measure U.

You may have heard that Pixar wants to triple the size of their corporate campus. We don’t oppose Pixar expanding, but this proposed deal is bad for the community:

  • It will generate thousands of additional car trips each day.
  • It will result in a six-story parking structure- far higher than any other building in the neighborhood.
  • It will result in unknown impacts on the environment, since the City failed to require a full environmental impact report.

And the City failed to ensure a fair deal for residents out of the project- things like more affordable housing, jobs for local residents and a sensible design that respects the neighborhood.

Voting NO on Measure T and NO on Measure U will send the city and Pixar back to the bargaining table to reach an agreement that benefits ALL Emeryville residents. The City Council has done it before for other projects. They can do it again with Pixar.

We can get a better deal- one that works for Emeryville residents and for Pixar. The first step is rejecting this flawed proposal. (Next page) Please vote NO on Measure T and NO on Measure U.

Sincerely,
